The village of Cerne Abbas has been described as 'a jewel of the Dorset countryside'. From the Tudor houses in Abbey Street to the natural beauty of the surrounding valley there is plenty to see and do with many picturesque walks and historical sights to visit. The 16th Century former coaching inn is set in the heart of Thomas Hardys’ picturesque Dorset countryside and home of the famous Chalk Giant etched on the hill. The New Inn has been a great attraction to visitors to Cerne Abbas, Dorset, UK, since 1539 when the original 13th century building was made into a coaching inn using stones from the nearby abbey. The perfect place to unwind and relax with a drink and some home cooked food. The grade 2 listed building is today largely unaltered and still offers the warmest hospitality. A family run inn which is non-smoking throughout, offers a cosy bar with log burner , attractive dinning area, quality home cooked food, real ales, fine wines, picturesque garden and a decking area. |
